Quintin Hogg was a remarkable Victorian philanthropist and educational pioneer who left an indelible mark on London. His most notable achievement was founding the Regent Street Polytechnic, which would later become the University of Westminster.

In 1864, at the young age of 19, Hogg began teaching a small group of boys in the slums of London. Hogg’s unwavering commitment to this cause led him to establish the Polytechnic at 309 Regent Street in 1882.
