In 1948, when the State of Israel was established, Weizmann was elected as its first president, serving until his death in 1952.

During his time in London, Weizmann resided at 67 Addison Road in the Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. This elegant Victorian townhouse served as both his home and a gathering place for influential figures in the Zionist movement.
