His most iconic achievement came at Wimbledon, where he won the Men’s Singles title for three straight years from 1934 to 1936, becoming the last British man to win the championship until Andy Murray’s victory in 2013.

Known for his speed, agility, and attacking style of play, Perry was a tennis pioneer who helped popularize the sport. He also became a successful businessman, lending his name to the iconic Fred Perry sportswear brand. In recognition of his achievements, he was made a Freeman of the Borough of Stockport.
